A big equilateral triangle made with nine matchsticks, with side length three. Three small equilateral triangles are made with three matchsticks in each vertex of the big equilateral triangle.

The figure has four equilateral triangles.

Move two matchsticks to get only three equilateral triangles.

Solution
A big equilateral triangle made with nine matchsticks, with side length three. Other two similar equilateral triangles are made with three matchsticks in the left vertex of the big equilateral triangle, with side length one and two.
